A holistic diet contributes to our well-being. Myth or truth?

But what do we mean by the term “holistic nutrition”? Holigreen’s experts answer!

You have surely noticed that if you neglect your diet for a long time, then you feel more sluggish. This happens because the holistic diet, that each of us should follow, is inextricably linked to well-being. Why though;

First, we need to understand what holistic nutrition means, and for this, we need to delve into the deeper meaning of the holistic lifestyle, of which nutrition is a part. Man’s mind, body, and spirit make up the WHOLE (hence the adjective holistic). Based on ancient philosophical systems, man is an energy being and for better functioning, he must be fed. By adopting a holistic lifestyle or simply a healthy lifestyle, we nourish our body, mind, and spirit. Therefore, holistic nutrition means treating our diet as a part of a healthy lifestyle. Also, this is the reason why we should not only pay attention to what kind of food we consume but also how we help our body to consume the food and then excrete it during the smooth function of our digestive system.

Based on the holistic diet, no type of food is considered harmful to the body if it is in its primary state. Vegetarianism is promoted as a holistic diet by some holistic philosophies, such as Ayurvedic philosophy. For this reason, many consider vegetarianism to be synonymous with holistic nutrition. But this identification is dogmatic and wrong, as there is carnivorism (meat-eating)  too in the holistic diet except for vegetarianism.

Therefore, the truth is that regardless of the choice of holistic nutrition you will make, you should keep in mind that this is how you help your body to shield itself against demanding everyday life and diseases. Our well-being is based on the good health of the body, which is achieved with a balanced diet that includes pure and organic food instead of processed foods.

Seize the opportunity and make a new beginning immediately!
