5+1 questions to connect with your higher self

A holistic lifestyle promotes not only a healthy body but also a healthy and balanced mind. That’s why we should dedicate time to ourselves every day, listen to our needs, set new goals that will help us evolve as human beings, and through this process, connect with our higher selves.

But before we proceed with the 5+1 simple questions that will help us achieve this connection, let’s see what the term “higher self” means. Our higher self is that future version that each of us aspires to. It is important to remember that it is not separate from us but is the most evolved, authentic version of who we really are.

It would be nice to have a record to look back on to see who we were and who we have become through a daily internal review. That’s why it’s good to keep a journal with these questions, so it’s easier to discover ourselves. In the beginning, you can start with general questions and as time goes by the questions should become more specific.

The 5+1 questions to help you connect with yourself are:

1) What do I like to do on a daily basis? What are my habits?
And as specific questions, you can try these:
Do I exercise in the mornings? Do I do yoga or lift weights?
Do I eat healthy meals or does my day start with just coffee?
Do I prefer reading books or watching a series?

2) What kind of thoughts do I have every day?
And as specific questions, you can try these:
Am I in control of my life?
Can I achieve anything that I set as a goal?
Do I have what it takes to succeed?

3) How do I feel about myself?
And as specific questions, you can try these:
Am I hard or kind to myself?
Would I describe myself as an optimist or a pessimist?
Do I deserve what I have achieved or not?

4) How are my relationships with others? What limits do I have in my life?
And as specific questions, you can try these:
Do I have many friends or a few good ones?
Am I talking to my relationship about myself and my concerns?
Do I say NO easily or hard?
Do I make my boundaries clear to those around me?

5) What do I believe in? What are the moral values that I believe in?
And as specific questions, you can try these:
Do I believe the world is a dark place?
Did bad things happen to me to learn something?
Is there always good intent behind an altruistic act?

After answering all these questions, it is time to answer the most important question.

“What would my higher self do in this situation? How would I react? What habits would I have?’

After this question is answered, then we are one step closer to our higher self, our authentic self for who we are and what we really want. So we will set a goal to react and behave as we ideally would like, so that we are in alignment with our inner higher self and connected to our desires.
